- Take 1.5 ltr Milk
- Take 3/4 cup (150 g) Basmati or Small grain rice
- Get 3/4 cup (150 g) Sugar or to taste
- Take 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- Take 12-15 almond
- Prepare 10 pistachio
- Take 2 pinch saffron
- Take Extra nuts, raisins and saffron for garnishing (optional)
Preparation method Rinse rice in cold water, until the water runs clear. It's good hot, cold, runny, thick, with cashews, with fresh fruit, with raisins, for breakfast, for dessert, for dinner, lunch. etc. You need to stay with the milk the entire time the rice is cooking - otherwise, you'll end up with burnt milk, which is one of the worst things you'll ever. Instructions to make 🍲Kheer🍲
(rice pudding):
- First thinly sliced the nuts and soaked the rice in a water and keep it aside.
- Turn on the heat and put the milk non-stick pan over it, let the milk boil. - Boil the milk on low heat till the milk reduce to half of the original quantity.
- Add washed rice and mix it properly, cook it on low heat for 10-12 minutes, keep stirring in between.
- Add sugar and mix it properly, add cardamom powder into the milk and stir. - - Add sliced nuts (reserve some garnishing) into the milk and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
- Increase the heat and boil it for 2 minutes, keep stirring continuously. - - Turn off the heat, add saffron and leave the kheer for 20 minutes. - Garnish with nuts and saffron. - - Ready to serve.
- #Tip: - - Do not add rice before sugar because the rice will not cook properly. - - serve it hot or refrigerate it for 2-3 hrs and serve cold.
It is often prepared during religious ceremonies and memorial services. Kheer is ready once rice is fully cooked. Kheer is a creamy rice pudding and it's one of my favorite desserts to make and eat! This Indian dessert is served on all kinds of special occasions. If you've never tried kheer before, it's basically a milky pudding-like dessert that has a thinner consistency than American rice pudding.
