It consists of steamed rice mixed with raisins, carrots, and beef or lamb.

  17. Make ready 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  18. Take 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  19. Prepare to taste Salt

Kabuli Chana Pulao is an excellent dish for your daily meals. This is an easy and simple yet tasty one pot meal. Kabuli pulao is special occasion food in Afghanistan. Meats: Feel free to substitute stewing beef for the lamb.

Instructions to make Kabuli Pulav:
  1. Wash, drain and fry basmati rice in ghee and keep aside.
  2. Saute bay leaves, green cardamom, brown cardamom, cinnamon stick along with cloves and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Add chopped onion to the pan and saute till golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté.
  5. Now add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder.
  6. Add chickpeas, salt and water.
  7. Cook till it becomes soft.
  8. Add fried basmati rice.
  9. Add curd and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves, fried onions and water.
  10. Cook for 1 whistle and let it pressure release.
  11. Garnish with fried cashews and raisins and serve hot.
